CIRCA 1900, FINE APPENZELL LINEN TEA TOWEL. A lovely shaped floral vignette with a portrait of a lady worked on the Drawnwork at the center.She has a lovely face and has pretty flowers in her hair and around her shoulders . Measuring approx.31" by 16". The linen is exceptionally fine and smooth and there are attractive flower garlands around the design.Each edge is scalloped and embroidered. One tiny pinspot, otherwise in very good strong condition. The Appenzell lace pieces came from a very good collection that had been amassed over many years.
