CIRCA 1880-1900, RARE LARGE IRISH CROCHET LACE BEDSPREAD. It is now almost 45 years of selling...and I must say I have never seen such a large piece of Irish Crochet lace! Dresses, coats, hats, blouse, collars have come and gone but I have never seen a piece as large as this. Measuring approx. 90" by 70". The lace has a very large medallion at it's centrewith raised three-dimensional flowers with and leaves throughout the lace. There are so many different designs in the lace, it is difficult to condense this down for a listing.This certainly was a labour of love or perhaps made for a exposition or it was a specially commissioned piece for a collector.A wonderful piece for the Irish lace collector. One could add a colored panel underneath and use as bedspread, etc. In very good strong condition, it seems unused or rarely used.
