CIRCA 19THC.RARE BURATTO LACE PLACEMAT SET W/FIGURALS, ANIMALS,BIRDS.A impressive Buratto lace placemat set! The design depicts a classical Italian theme , with what seems like the goddess Diana and other figures dressed in period dress hunting in a lush forest. There are archers, dogs, birds, deer and large stag in the designs. The edges of the runner each have the figure of the goddess of the hunt and throughout the set there are florals, ornate tree and assorted birds. There is one long runner measuring approx. almost 64" by almost 18" wide. There are nine placemats , all with different scenes of the hunt, the placemats measure approx. 17" by 11. The set seems unused. A few very small storage spots, just needs to be laundered, otherwise in very good strong condition.
