EXQUISITE NEEDLELACE PLACEMAT SET W/CASTLES,HENRY THE lV HUNTING LODGE ETC. It is so rare to find sets like these! During the 1800's-1900's many wealthy couples embarked on their "Grand Tour" through Europe buying beautiful gowns, lace and purchasing linens and textiles  and other antiques from the different countries in Europe.This set was commissioned by a wealthy American from the lacemakers in Europe. The table runner has historical lodges and castles  and is ornate with large oval vignettes on each end.The designs have "Henry lV Hunting Lodge on one end and a image of Villebon Castle on the other.. There are florid meandering vines and florals through the entire table runner and placemats.The placemats have images depicting "Chillon Castle, Queen Blanch Castle, Mary Leszcynska Castle < The Queen of France in the 1700's> and the Chateau Maintenon ,and Villebon Castle. In very good unused strong condition , a couple of tiny minor openings from storage. The set has it's original cream patina. the set was commissioned by a very wealthy American Industrialist during the late 1800's-early 1900's.A beautiful set for the serious collector of lace and linens.
