BURATTO LACE TABLECLOTH W/WHITEWORK EMBROIDERY,RETICELLA, VENISE GROS POINT LACE. Stunning workmanship and a superb design on this beautiful Buratto lace tablecloth.Except for the small linen circle at the center, the cloth is covered entirely with hand made wonderful raised whitework and satin stitch embroidery, elaborate Reticella lace and the cloth has a Point de Venise Gros Point scalloped edging. The amount of lacework that went into the construction of this tablecloth is surely quite amazing.This was certainly designed and made in the atelier of a famous lace company during the late 1880's-1900's. The design is quite lavish .it has overflowing baskets filled with flowers and tied with ribbons, decorative floral swag wreaths, and assorted Reticella lace design in the insertions. Measurig approx. 52". In very good condition this is another fine cloth being offered from this very important collection of lace and linens. This person had a superior eye for beauty!
