CIRCA 19THC. ORNATE BRUSSELS MIXED LACE SHAWL. Quite a beautiful Brussels mixed lace shawl! the design is certainly very lush and ornate ,there are lovely large shaped vignettes filled with floral bouquets, scrollwork, meandering vines and leaves and the shawl also has Duchesse large floral bouquets, most of the flowers, vines and leaves have raised cordonnet. Measuring approx. 117" by approx.21". The lace shawl seems unused and has it's original cream patina In very good strong condition, 2 tiny openings,small repairs near side edge,MINOR in every respect. The shawl seems to have a Droschel ground. A impressive example ..with excellent design and extremely fine workmanship.
