EARLY VENETIAN GROS POINT LACE COLLAR

EARLY VENETIAN GROS POINT COLLAR. Circa 1700-1800's, a Venetian Gros Point lace collar that seems to have a design with pomegranates in the lace and with raised work on some of the florals. There are meandering vines and florals. I am inclined to think this is a earlier collar because it came from a museum deaccession of very early laces. Measuring approx.18 1/2" by 6 1/4" at widest part. This could possibly also be a man's collar. The lace has it's original cream patina and seems unused.
