CIRCA 19THC. SUPERB IRISH YOUGHAL LACE. The workmanship is quite superior on these two pieces of Irish Youghal lace and the design is excellent. I am not sure if they were made as dress fronts..the lace was never used and came from a museum deaccession of fine laces. Perhaps they were being made up to adorn a dress. There is a wonderful movement in the meandering vines and leaves with exceptional large beautiful florals. Measuring approx. 17-20" by 8" at widest part. The lace has it's original cream patina. In very good unused condition, one reattachment needed on edge, minor. Excellent both in design and workmanship.
