CIRCA 18THC.ITALIAN YELLOW BROCADE SILK W/SPANGLES,SEQUINS AND CRIMPED FOIL. A wonderful panel of 18THC. Italian Brocade silk. A pale chartreuse yellow brocaded silk with a exotic pattern of single onion-shaped tulip buds on small stalks with two leaves.Each bud with a metallic silver striped frise center and shaded with purple, mauve and pink; the leaves two shades of bright green. Formerly the skirt of a dress; the hem is embellished with pressed foil colored spangles in whimsical shapes(moons, pineapples,leaves),sequins and crimped foil. Measuring approx. 37 by 21 inches, 93.98 by 53.34cm. In very good strong condition.A beautiful panel for the early collector.
