CIRCA 1500's, RARE PUNTO TAGLIATO LACE BORDER. Quite a amazing early piece! Circa 16THC. a rare border of Punto Tagliato measuring approx. 19" by almost 3 1/4".There is some linen attached at the top, so I assume it might have come from a article of clothing or table linen , bedspread etc..The insertion in cut linen is quite detailed and dense and the lace has scallops on the edge. It is always wonderful to find these early pieces! The lace come from the superb collection that belonged to the Grande Maison De Blanc. In good strong condition, one edge has small open areas and might be missing the inner part.A superb lace for the early collector. The lace has it's original patina.
