CIRCA 19THC. LUMINOUS SILK NANDUTI SHAWL
CIRCA 19THC. LUMINOUS SILK NANDUTI SHAWL. This shawl is certainly quite amazing. A wonderful luminous cream silk Nanduti hand made shawl measuring approx. 85" by 24" wide. The shawl is scalloped on all edges and the silk is absolutely luminous. The name Nanduti means "spider web" and the lace was woven with a needle and silk. I must say that in forty-five years I have never seen one as fine or as beautiful. The roundels are brilliant and the designs connecting them are intricate and fine. The shawl seems as if it was never used. A perfect example of the very best Nanduti lace for the collector.Of course, worn as a shawl or veil, this would be be stunning!
