EXQUISITE AND RARE, BRUSSELS POINT DE GAZE PLACEMAT SET. Absolutely a exquisite design and the most superb workmanship on this beautiful Brussels Point De Gaze placemat set. It is so very rare to find such a beautiful Brussels placemat set as most items of Point de Gaze were made for weddings or for dress. The design has an opulent shaped vignette at the center with a decorative floral spray and heirloom roses in the design and on the edges. The roses all have raised three dimensional petals and there is elaborate scrollwork with tiny needle fillings and scattered throughout the design there is Point De Esprit work. The set seems to have a hand made ground, only the most expensive items of Point De Gaze had hand made grounds made for the lace.There are twelve placemats that measure approx. 18" by 12" and eleven napkins measuring approx. 17". The set seems rarely used and has it's original cream patina. I do not know if it can get much better than this for the collector of Brussels Point de Gaze.
