CIRCA 1890-1900, STUNNING SILK CANTON SHAWL/MANTILLA W/EXOTIC BIRDS,FLOWERS. Wonderful vibrant colors on this early hand embroidered Canton silk shawl.The design is very ornate with Birds of Paradise with amazing detailed workmanship, roses and other florals ,butterflies and vines throughout the shawl. Measuring approx. 65" with additional 23" of hand made Macrame silk fringe. The colors on this shawl are beautiful. The bird's plumage are quite remarkable. In very good condition, seems unused or rarely used. A beautiful item to wear or to drape over piano , table etc.
