ELABORATE NEEDLEPOINT PANEL W/FIGURALS,ANIMALS,BIRDS. A wonderful Italian Needlepoint tablecloth measuring apprx. 68" by 72". The design is quite exuberant with a profuse amount of graceful scrollwork and a central design of florals. There are urns overflowing with florals and leaves and large scale winged figurals on each side. The design has men in period medieval dress, birds, dogs, swans, elaborate dolphins and laurel wreaths along the edges.A wonderful piece.. one can either use for a table or add a lining and use as wall panel as the designs are reminiscent of earlier tapestries.In good condition.This is part of a collection that belonged to a member of the nobility.
