EXQUISITE APPENZELL CLOTH W/FIGURALS,HORSES,ETC. A superb cloth,excellent in design and highest level of Appenzell whitework. Measuring apprx. 84" by 34"wide.This cloth is unused and has it's original tag.Drawn Mosaic work throughout the cloth with a central long oval of rose and flower garlands in the center. A large oval vignette measuring apprx.19" by 12 1/2" wide on each end,the design within is of elaborate riders in period costume sitting on beautifully decorated horses with landscape of flowering tree and flowers in the background.Music and musicians seem to be the theme in this gorgeous cloth . The guards quite possibly being Swiss guards in period costume escorting a musician holding a decorative drum.The entire oval is surrounded by the rose garland.The ovals at the sides measures apprx.20" by 9"wide. The inner Appenzzel scene depicts a magnificent and ornamental carriage being pulled by oxen.Four musicians sit within the carriage ,all in period dress playing their instruments.The quality of all the Appenzell is quite amazing.Unused and in good condition. Opulent design combined with superb Appenzell embroidery. A beautiful cloth for the Appenzell collector or museum.(Item #ALT56)
