CIRCA 19THC. ELABORATE 157" BRUSSELS LACE FLOUNCE. A beautiful bold design on this very long flounce of Brussels lace. The design and lace work are both excellent. Measuring approx. 157" round by almost 8"wide, approx. 398.78 cm round by almost 20.32 cm. This lace seems unused or rarely used. The design has elaborate scrolling vines and flowers with tiny needle fillings and Point de Esprit scattered throughout the lace. There is one join so it is easy to unpick. A great lace for the dressmaker as it was probably made for the bottom of a 19THC. dress. A few minor openings, the lace is in near mint condition , very good and strong and as I said..it seems unused. The lace retains it's original cream patina.
