CIRCA 19THC. EXQUISITE BRUSSELS POINT DE GAZE LACE COLLAR. A stunning Brussels Point De Gaze collar with a very ornate design and excellent lace work. Measuring approx. almost 14" by 9" deep. The design has large floral sprays with flower garlands surrounding the sprays and rich scrollwork and fine elongated leaves weaving their way throughout the design.There are numerous tiny needle fillings and on the gently scalloped edges there are large heirloom roses and florals. In this design practically all of the hand made ground is covered with dense work and there is scattered Point De Esprit on the open ground .There are a few scattered tiny openings but overall the lace seems unused or rarely used.The lace has it's original cream patina. This beautiful collar excels in workmanship and design!
