CIRCA LATE 19THC.NEEDLE LACE PLACEMAT W/RENAISSANCE PAINTER,MANTEGNA. A rare item! There is a central oval vignette containing a man and lady in classical dress with a cherub in a pastoral setting. I am not sure if this is the work, Parnassus, Mars and Venice.. Measuring approx. 18" by 12" wide. In good strong condition, the lace has it's original cream patina.
