CIRCA 18THC.MECHLIN LACE, PROVENANCE ROOSEVELT FAMILY COLLECTION
C. 18THC.MECHLIN LACE,PROVENANCE ROOSEVELT FAMILY COLLECTION. A lovely fine Mechlin lace that came from the estate of Mrs. J. West Roosevelt of Oyster Bay. The lady was married to a cousin of Theodore Roosevelt .Many of the Roosevelts lived near the Sagamore Hill home of the President in Oyster Bay,Long Island. Measuring approx. almost 39" by 3 1/4". I have not included the later heading that was added the top of the lace. The lace has it's original cream patina and was mounted on silk, there are some tiny openings and scattered imperfections or tiny repairs.Seems minor as this is a fine lace with a good provenance.
