CIRCA 1780, LOVELY FINE FRENCH ALENCON LACE LAPPETS. Ethereal French Alencon lace lappets with the original cream patina. Part of a very good early lace collection. The workmanship is excellent , made with the finest thread and the design is quite lovely, there are masses of tiny florets with pretty floral garlands around the gently scalloped edges.Measuring approx.almost 5" by almost 8 1/2"wide. There are a few age related spots that can be spot cleaned, otherwise the lace is in such good condition. It seems as if they are unused or certainly rarely used. A good item for the early lace collector.
