CIRCA 1760, LUMINOUS SPITALFIELDS BROCADE PANEL W/POLYCHROME SILK FLORALS. A luminous panel of self-figured ivory taffeta brocade  with polychrome silk with widely scattered floral sprays and sprigs; sub-pattern of pairs of vertical stripes of small floral vines interspersed with floral sprays, alternating with paired serpentine floral trails; brocade threads of red, pink, rust, green, yellow brown and black with plain weave taffeta ground with weft float patterning and discontinuous supplementals patterning wefts(brocading). Measuring approx.19.5 by 6.5 ,118.11 by 49.53 cm. In very good condition, a couple of tiny dot spots. A beautiful piece!
