EXQUISITE POLYCHROME SILK,VELVET CROWN W/METALLIC EMBROIDERY. The crown has quite a beautiful design and the workmanship is exquisite on this very elaborate crown. This item came from a estate with a long provenance spanning three generations. I am not sure where it originated as the the owners travelled extensively through Europe and other countries. The crown is worked with polychrome silk threads on a silk cream panel with raised work and also velvet fabric in the design. There is the finest gold and silver metallic embroidery on the crown.the detailed work can only be appreciated by seeing this up close.The color combination of threads are are rich and bright and quite lustrous. Measuring approx. 11 1/2" by 12" at widest part.Some slight age wear on small velvet oval,very minor.The crown is in very good strong condition as it seems unused.
