Circa 1880-1900's,a rare French placemats set consisting of a very long runner, 12 placemats and 12 round coasters. Sets like this are extremely rare to find and were items that could have been bought while ladies went on the Grand Tour during the late 1800's-1900's. There are all different Chateaus and Castles throughout the set, Chateau De Fontainbleu,Chateau, Chateau De Coucy,Chateau De Bois, Chambord, Chaumont,Mantenon,Petit Trianon, Chateau De Bois, Chateau De Foucard,Chateau de Sully Chateau De Chantilly etc. The table runner has quite a remarkable length, measuring approx. 69-70" by 21". The placemats measure approx.18" by 12 1/2" wide. A wonderful set in every sense. In good strong condition, rarely used and in storage for a long time.The set has been laundered. A superb item for the serious lace or linen collector.
