CIRCA 18THC. LONG MILANESE LACE FLOUNCE. The linen flax on this early Milanese lace has a very cold to the touch , flax thread became warmer due to climatic changes over the centuries and so the thread became much warmer. A good long border of Milanese lace measuring approx. 139" by 6" wide. Lace like this was mainly used for the Church or for furnishing . The lace has it's original patina and has a few smattered minor openings but is in very good strong condition. Lace comes from a museum deaccession of early laces we purchased recently.
