CIRCA 1890-1900, RARE MIXED LACE DRESS W/OVAL FIGURAL VIGNETTES. Quite a unusual overdress made of Brussels Applique and Tambour lace with large oval vignettes filled with a lady in the landscaped gardens. The design is quite ebullient and has large florals, vines and swags tied with large bows with tasseled edges. There are approx. six large ovals with scenes containing a lady feeding birds in period dress surrounded by a landscaped garden theme. The front of the dress has a long panel. This dress seems to have had a silk dress underneath and came with a wedding veil and so this might have been the part of the ladies wedding dress. It seems home made. There are a few openings throughout the dress but mainly in good strong condition.
