CIRCA 19THC. SUPERB LONG BRUSSELS LACE FLOUNCE

CIRCA 19THC. SUPERB LONG BRUSSELS LACE FLOUNCE. Circa  1860's, a lovely long and wide  flounce of Brussels lace. The design is light and ethereal ,with undulating vines and florals and scattered Point De Esprit throughout the lace. Measuring approx 153" by 15" wide or 388.62 cm by 38.1cm. The lace has it's original cream patina. In mainly good strong condition, there is a 3" tear at the very top of the lace near the top heading and a few scattered repairs that are good and were mended in their time. This was probably attached to a gown in the 19THCentury. The part at the top I consider minor compared to the overall good strong condition of the lace.A lovely item for the dressmaker to use for veils, dresses etc. The large floral bouquets and design fill the majority of the design.
