CIRCA 1900, RARE, LUMINOUS HAND MADE NANDUTI SILK SHAWL. This Nanduti cream shawl is absolutely stunning! In all the many years that I have sold antique lace I have never seen such a good example of this lace. This surely was done by a master lacemaker as it is perfect in every respect. The shawl is made with the finest luminous silk with the wheels which are so perfect and beautiful in every sense. Perhaps the most perfect part is that the shawl is so light in the hand, the silk so fine it almost seems impossible to imagine that it could have been even been made. It is so rare to find such a good example.In 45 years, I have never seen one like it. Measuring approx. 47" by 24". In very good strong condition, seems unused.This lace came from a very good collection of lace with provenance.
