CIRCA 1735, FINE EARLY VALENCIENNE LACE W/"CINQ TROUS" RESEAU. A fine early border of Valencienne lace with original cream patina. Measuring approx. almost 29" by almost 3"wide. The amount of work it took to create this piece is astonishing because one wonders how they could have worked with such fine flax thread. In mainly good strong condition, a couple of small openings and a couple of loose threads on edging. The lace is light in the hand, the camera cannot capture this. A very good lace for the collector.
