CIRCA 18THC. RARE FLEMISH LACE WITH LOVELY SYMMETRIC FLORAL DESIGN. Quite a stunning design on this fine Flanders or Flemish lace dating from the 1700's. The lace has a beautiful large urn and floral design and is surrounded by elongated large undulating flowers. There are various snowflake and partridge eye fillings with a mesh ground of round Valencienne lace. Such a rare design , the vines on the flower heads have bows at the top and the large flower heads have such graceful symmetry.This is truly a wonderful piece for the collector as not only is the design superb, the flax threads so fine but the workmanship can take one's breath away when closely examined.In wonderful condition.
