CIRCA 1900, LUMINOUS TRAINED SILK AND LACE WEDDING GOWN,SHOES

CIRCA 1900, LUMINOUS  TRAINED SILK AND LACE WEDDING GOWN,SHOES. A lovely shimmering cream wedding dress with matching silk cream shoes. A gorgeous ensemble with a beautiful design and lovely large ribbon rosettes and trailing ribbons with a voluminous pretty skirt. There are three layers on the skirt ,there is lovely silk chiffon organdy ,silk and under that a heavier muslin with pleated edges and ribbons. The bodice measures apprx. 16 across chest,24 inches around the waist. The skirt measures apprx.22-24 inches around waist, 48-50 inches down the front , the back measures apprx. 65".The shoes measure apprx. 9 1/2". The ensemble is in very good condition overall and displays beautifully. There is some shattering on inner silk and a few reattachments needed on pleated area. There is damage on the edge of the train  and a area that is missing the pleated edge, inner stiffer muslin has age related stains and there is damage on the inner silk.I dont think these need to be replaces as they are not apparent when gown is on display.Overall, very good strong condition.. The shoes are in very good condition, a couple of scuff marks. This ensemble was worn once. It was donated to a museum at some point in time and so was kept quite well. The silk is quite luminous. This a a beautiful ethereal ensemble, one can only imagine this bride looked absolutely stunning.
