CIRCA 1890-1900,MAGNIFICENT FRENCH COUTURE "A.FELIX BREVETE" EVENING GOWN.A lavish two piece ensemble  by Felix Brevite. The bodice and skirt are composed of velvet with cream satin all down the front of bodice and also on the skirt. The ensemble is embellished with ornate decorative designs ,jet beading and silver sequins with hand silk embroidery around all the decorations. The bouffant puffed sleeves have matching decorations , the opening at the center  is filled with cream silk chiffon. The inner bodice has a lilac lining and stays. There are numerous lilac silk ribbons, the two at front on the bodice have wonderful tassels with beads on the edges. A gorgeous ensemble for display. The cream silk parts have damage , perhaps a good restorer could repair by replacing the silk  or just use the gown for display .There is wear on some of the ribbons , the velvet is strong and in good condition. So work is needed ,it would be nice if it could be restored but it certainly would take someone with skill and knowledge and dedication. (Item #ALC60)
