CIRCA 17THC. VENETIAN AND POINT DE FRANCE LACE TABLE RUNNER. There are very fine long borders of Point De France and early Venetian lace in the design on this table runner. The lace was preserved into a table runner probably at a later date and was backed with a blue silk lining. The Point De France has it's original metal tag, the design is superb and there is meticulous workmanship on this lace. The Venetian lace has fine relief work, lovely Picot brides and assortment of interesting fillings on the elaborate florals and vines. Measuring apprx.89 by 20 inches wide. There is so much fine lace in this piece. In very good strong condition.Part of a important collector's New York deaccession of fine lace and linens.This item also has a French and Company tag, the company were major importers of fine antiques and textiles during the early 1900's.  Item#AL625
