CIRCA 1900,SUPERB FRENCH ROUND LINEN TABLECLOTH W/HUNTING SCENES,KING,FALCON,ANIMALS. A beautiful French fine white linen round tablecloth measuring apprx.92 inches or 233.68 centimeters.Around the center of the tablecloth there are large shaped vignettes filled with Filet lace depicting a Royal hunt,with Falconeer and his F alcon,huntsmen and soldiers with horses,dogs and deer amidst a forest.In between these designs are raised satin stitch whitework embroidery, Reticella lace and Punchwork in the shield shapes.Around this ornate design there is more Reticella lace, raised satin stitch whitework embroidery,and in the elaborate Drawnwork design it seems to show a ornate Fleur De Lys design.The outer part also has a Falcon or Eagle and Hare alternating with Rococo meandering vines. The scalloped edges have images of a King in the serpentine scrollwork design.A wonderful cloth.In very good condition.
