CIRCA 1820'S, EARLY LADIES TRAPUNTO COTTON QUILTED CORSET

CIRCA 1820's, EARLY LADIES  TRAPUNTO COTTON QUILTED CORSET. Quite a ornate design on this early ladies corset. The  Trapunto decoration is quite elaborate with raised three dimensional undulating vines and florals. The corset is shaped with godet inserts and has  diagonal quilted cording in the design. The interior has a opening where the busk would have gone and at the back there are eyelets for lacing.Measuring apprx.23-24 inches across chest and back while corset is laid flat,18 inches for waist,32 inches for bottom circumference,14 1/2 inches from center of corset to it's edge. There is a light scripted signature, unfortunately I cannot read what it says! The corset is in excellent condition and was part of a longtime collectors deaccession in New England.
