A fine hand embroidered cream silk Chinese export shawl from the 1920's with figures in period dress amidst a lush landscape and architectural elements,pagoda's, and bridges. Fine meandering vines, florals and trees accent the design with a lady or goddess springing from one of the lotus flowers. A unusual design at the center, with mountain outlines, trees and cloud elements, designs one usually sees on Chinese robes and textiles. The robes have lovely design elements on them, auspicious good luck symbols with fine detailed workmanship.Measuring apprx.50-51" with apprx.19-20" fringe all the way around. So apprx.90" across when the shawl is laid flat.A few tiny spots, shawl needs to be cleaned.In very good strong condition. (Item #AS68)
