LOVELY AND ORNATE 19THC. BRUSSELS LACE TRIANGULAR SHAWL. A very beautiful Brussels lace triangular shawl measuring apprx. 112" by almost 60" at widest part, ...284.4cm by152.4 cm. A delightful design with meandering vines, florals . The central large bouquets are quite elegant with both bobbin and fine needlelace with lavish scrollwork,ornamental swags and ethereal Point De Paris scattered throughout the shawl.This shawl was lined with a fine net backing and seems rarely used. there are two repairs, one measures 2 1/2" and bother were down in their time,one other smaller one at 1",minor compared to the excellent condition of this shawl. This is a diaphanous shawl ,elegant and graceful in design with fine workmanship.(Item#AL601)
