CIRCA 1890's,EXCELLENT BANQUET TABLECLOTH W/BURANO LACE,ROYAL CROWN

CIRCA1880's,EXCELLENT BANQUET TABLECLOTH W/BURANO LACE,ROYAL CROWN.A superb and RARE cream linen tablecloth measuring apprx. 246-247 inches by 84 inches wide. Measuring apprx. 6.278 by apprx.2.1336 Meters. This cloth and one other came from a Royal household  and has two elaborate crowns worked in Needle lace. There are handmade Venetian Burano laces ,18THC Coraline laces, and other fine Needle lace. The Venetian Burano lace has  meandering vines and bold florals in the design. there is a amazing amount of work in these laces.Even the lengths of the lace are impressive as I have never seen laces of this period worked into a Banquet tablecloth. This Royal must have been quite special because to have two cloths commissioned incorporating these early laces is quite astonishing. (Please also see out other Banquet cloth with early Point De France lace too.)This is a elegant cloth, museum quality.Practically all the items from her estate had the Royal Crown insignia, something that was only reserved for members of a Royal family. This has the natural original patina, it seems as if it was never used.In very good strong condition, a couple of spots, minor.A beautiful cloth for the discerning buyer or for lace collector.(Item #ALT102)
