CIRCA 19THC.RARE "AU BON MARCHE"BRODERIE ANGLAISE,SOUTACHE CHILD'S DRESS. It is rare to find a child's dress with "Au Bon Marche" Paris shop label.A lovely elaborate Victorian or Edwardian child's dress with whitework embroidery and large ornate ruffles and sleeves. A couple of tiny repairs in Broderie, minor, dress is in very good condition.This had a light pink tinge from storage, was washed once and practically all came up, would benefit from one more soak. A novelty shop called Au Bon Marché had been founded in Paris in 1838 to sell lace, ribbons, sheets, mattresses, buttons, umbrellas and other assorted goods.(Item #ACC204)
