CIRCA 1800's,FINE LAWN BODICE W/WHITEWORK,SKIRT PANEL

CIRCA 1800's, FINE LAWN BODICE W/WHITEWORK, SKIRT PANEL. So very beautiful.... the finest lawn has been used for this chastening ensemble consisting of a bodice and skirt panel with a stunning whitework design, there are meandering sinewy leaves and florals on the bodice with elaborate whitework covering the sleeves, front of bodice and on the ruffles around the back of the bodice. There is extremely fine Drawnwork around the neckline and sleeves with tiny scalloped whitework designed edges..The skirt panel has elongated leaves and a wide panel of leaf swags and Point De Esprit down the front panel. The gown seems to have never been made up.A wonderful offering that has come from a museum deaccession of children's clothing and still has  the museum coding number on a label inside the skirt. The bodice was washed and is whiter in color, the skirt panel needs to be laundered. I have only had a few sets like this in the past... so a wonderful offering with excellent workmanship and design.(Item #ACC190)
