EARLY MAN'S SILK WAISTCOAT W/BEAUVAIS EMBROIDERY. Fine silk and superb Beauvais embroidery on these two waistcoat fronts.Men's waistcoats usually had linen at the back of these elaborate waistcoats.The design is excellent with tiny rosebuds, vines and leaves worked along the edges and buttons with more elaborate design around the front pockets.Part of a collection from the Metropolitan museum deaccession of men's early clothing.In good condition.
