CIRCA 1650-1710,RARE VENETIAN POINT DE NEIGE LACE.A outstanding border of Point De Neige! Lace like this was worn by both men and woman and was considered as precious as jewels. A piece like this was a symbol of wealth and a high important position in society.Point De Neige is one of the finest laces produced during the early centuries and it was named because the design had a similar look to snowflake crystals.The design has small urns filled with flowers,small bows and undulating vines , tiny flowers and leaves.Measuring apprx. 119" by 4" wide.A extraordinary lace,meticulous workmanship and a exquisite design.
