ELABORATE NEEDLEPOINT TABLECLOTH W/CASTLES,ANIMALS,MEDIEVAL SCENES. Interesting medieval hunting scenes on this tablecloth measuring apprx 112" by 72" wide.In each corner a large oval wreath vignette is filled with hunting items ,horn, sword etc. Around all sides of the cloth are assorted hunting scenes, ladies with medieval costume on horses,dogs,wild boars,young men with horns ,deer all set in the forest with castles in the background.They say the that in Medieval Europe most hunting was done by nobles not only for food but also as a training for martial skills.The cloth has assorted bold florals , meandering vines and oak leaves in the design. This is part of a collection that belonged to a member of the nobility .A few age stains, otherwise very good condition.(Item #ALT55)
