OPULENT 19THC BRUSSELS LACE DRESS SKIRT PANEL W/HYDRANGEAS. Circa 1860's, a resplendent Brussels laceNeedlepoint and Bobbin lace dress skirt panel  with a brilliant design. Artistry and skill of the highest order enabled this lace to be "born"!! A large central vignette with large beautifully executed Needlepoint hydrangeas and roses are surrounded by ornate large leaves, florals, vines and large scaled scrollwork. Measuring apprx. 42-43" by 36-37" wide. This is  a lace that originally was part of a collection that included a Worth gown and so one would have expected the lace to be of the highest order. This seems unused and probably was made to go over the top of a gown as opposed to being sewn in to the gown.In good condition, a few small age spots, absolutely minor. A magnificent example of the finest Brussels lace!(Item #AL204)
