Excellent lace work on this lovely Brussels lace handkerchief.The design is ornate, with large scale florals, meandering vines and leaves and with numerous tiny needle lace roundels and fine Point D'Esprit throughout the handkerchief.Measuring approx. 14". In very good condition, the handkerchief seems unused.

CIRCA 19THC.ORNATE BRODERIE ANGLAIS CHILD'DRESS. A very pretty period hand made Broderie Anglaise child's dress.There is ornate work done on the bodice,sleeves and the wings that make their way around the top of the bodice.The skirt is very full and has a very wide border of Broderie Anglaise .in very good strong condition, seems rarely used.One small opening at the back.In the picture there seems to be a darker spot but it is just due to a shadow when picture was taken .This item has been laundered.There is quite an amazing amount of work on this lovely dress.

FINE D.PORTHAULT PLACEMAT SET W/BEAUVAIS EMBROIDERY. A lovely fine linen placemats set by D.Porthault. There are ten large round placemats measuring approx. 14 1/4" and ten napkins measuring approx. 19". The set seems rarely used and is in very good strong condition. The set is made with the finest linen and has a delicate gentle design of polychrome bluebells. This set has been laundered.

CIRCA 1880-1900,ELABORATE ROUND 105"NEEDLE, BOBBIN LACE TABLECLOTH. It is quite rare to find such a large round tablecloth!The design is so very ornate, there is a circular linen with embroidery at the center of the cloth that is then surrounded by a wide Filet lace with needle lace insertions.There are cherubs and urns, mythological animals and birds, scrollwork and masses of meandering floral vines.There are large images of ladies also in the design. Many of the Italian linens have designs that celebrated the "Primavera" Spring and also Harvest themes. Their designs were lavishly decorated with florals, fruit and ornate scrollwork were in many of the linens they made. This very light creamy colored tablecloth seems almost unused.This was usually the natural patina of items made during that time. Lace was dipped into light gentle tea infusions to color as opposed to dye.If one desires to make this cloth white , the answer is very hot water . Cool water and suds will keep the original color. In very good strong condition, a couple of minor light stains that will come up easily once laundered. There is such a tremendous amount of lacework in this wonderful tableclothcloth.

CIRCA 1900,LUMINOUS BELLE EPOQUE ERA SILK PURSE W/RIBBONWORK FLOWER SWAGS,SPANGLES. Simply a beautiful ladies purse from the Belle Epoque Era.The design is quite graceful and the workmanship is excellent. Measuring approx. 8 1/4" by 7", the measurement does not include the silk ribbons.The silk is as fine as gauze and so it is quite a wonder that so much fine detailed work could have been worked on it. The main part of the purse is a heavier silk .The inside of the purse seems as if it was rarely used or perhaps even unused.There are some wear areas on the very light silk but overall it presents itself beautifully.This is not a purse to use, it really is for the person who loves fine ribbon work, even the leaves and flowers are shaded.I must admit I do not even know how so much fine needlework was worked on this fine silk.This is a wonderful item for the purse or for the ribbon work collector.It really is quite a work of art!
