OPULENT 19THC BRUSSELS LACE DRESS SKIRT PANEL W/HYDRANGEAS. Circa 1860's, a resplendent Brussels laceNeedlepoint and Bobbin lace dress skirt panel with a brilliant design. Artistry and skill of the highest order enabled this lace to be "born"!! A large central vignette with large beautifully executed Needlepoint hydrangeas and roses are surrounded by ornate large leaves, florals, vines and large scaled scrollwork. Measuring apprx. 42-43" by 36-37" wide.This is a lace that originally was part of a collection that included a Worth gown and so one would have expected the lace to be of the highest order. This seems unused and probably was made to go over the top of a gown as opposed to being sewn in to the gown.In good condition, a few small age spots, absolutely minor. A magnificent example of the finest Brussels lace!(Item #AL204)

STUNNING 19THC.BRUSSELS LACE FLOUNCE W/TULIPS,ROSES. Circa 1860, a exquisite flounce of Brussels lace! This flounce is eloquent, the prowess of the lacemakers "sing" out to us. The designer would have been a master in the lace trade and probably worked for one of the very best lace firms in Brussels. The design of large bows, swags, tulips, gorgeous roses hydrangeas,lilies ,meandering vines,leaves and scrollwork are quite magnificent. This came form a estate that included a Worth dress and actually had a US Customs In Bond metal tag that was needed when it was imported from Belgium. MAGNIFICENT WHITEWORK EMBROIDERED BEDSPREAD. Astonishing workmanship and design!! One cannot say enough about the level of skill that would have been needed to produce such a grand piece.The design is fluid and ethereal, with leaves that are quite majestic , flower swags, acorns and flowers with intricate fillings that surround the large scaled monograms in the center of the spread.Both in design and workmanship ,one can see this was a item not done by any ordinary mortal!The designer must have been renowned and the embroidery would have been made by the most skilled embroiderer.Measuring apprx.94" by 70". In mainly strong good condition, but there are some repairs and openings.My opinion is that this is a item for the collector,this is not a item that should be used, This is a item that should simply be cherished.... AEMILIA ARS RETICELLA PILLOW COVER. This is possibly a pillow cover produced by the Aemilia Ars lacemakers. Fine intricate designs throughout the cover with lace insertion in the linen at the back. The Aemilia Ars society was founded in the 19THC. and many of their designs were influenced by early 16th-17thc. lace designs.Measuring apprx. 17 1/2" by 13". In mainly good strong condition, the back linen has some darker age spots. The item has not been washed so will need spot treatment and a soak. (Item #ALS43)

EXQUISITE 19THC. BRUSSELS LACE PARASOL W/POINT DE GAZE. A large and ornate Brussels lace parasol ,the design consists of pretty bows , flowers,vines and leaves and oval vignettes filled with Point De Gaze needlepoint flowers. The ivory handle has a fine sculpted design and the parasol has a inner silk lining. In very good condition, top ivory decoration missing.It is very rare to find Brussels lace parasols.This one is quite beautiful! (Item #AL202)
