CIRCA 1800, FINE EMPIRE CHRISTENING GOWN.RARE and lovely early Empire period gown with fine Lille or Mechlin lace and lovely garlands of whitework embroidered flowers and leaves. There gown has a overlap that meets at the front and there is a covered buttons with further buttons on the top of the bodice.A beautiful design with superb workmanship, this gown is quite a gem!there are some scattered tiny repairs in lace, and the opening at the back has a seam added,a common repair sometimes found in christening gowns.Overall good strong condition and the gown far outshines the impediments.A RARE and BEAUTIFUL gown for the collector.
